Using Google Flights to book a flight

For meals, you should be able to specify at booking. But either way, I always call each of the individual airlines in the reservation and ensure that they have the proper request in the system. Why? On an hours long flight, you want to make sure they have something that meets your dietary requirements. If they don't have enough veg meals, that is going to be a looooong flight if you are hungry.

Flights within and to/from India shouldn't be a problem - they always have a veggie meal as one of the main options. But ex-Germany to the U.S. may not, so you want to be sure you are covered there. ORD-CAK is a short flight and won't even serve a bag of pretzels, so make sure if you need to eat something, grab something at ORD first or to bring on board.
