Any more thought on Part I ANC plans? Denali, Valdez, other? I likely would not get in until Saturday evening/night. Apart from schedule, I haven't been to Valdez so that's my preference anyway.
For anybody who are in fact going to Denali, I was there last year over Labor day weekend and it was spectacular - clear, bright blue sky for my day in the park! Don't know if that is a normal occurrence for that time of year though. Will definitely go back some time but probably not this trip.
For those who are planning on Denali after the DO, the lottery dates this year are 9/11-14 and you can apply in June.
