As mentioned by many people, the 767s in question are well maintained and almost all of them have been in the AC fleet since their delivery. They are reliable workhorses and that is why so many are still in operation.
I'm not sure where you get the information about retired 777s though. According to airfleets.net* 1,247 777s delivered, 5 have been scrapped. That's less than one half of one percent.
