UNFCU, in their ongoing quest to make everything as difficult as possible

seem to require me to call in to verify that I really am the one trying to enroll my card. At least, that's what it says in the Apple Pay screen in Settings on my iPhone, that I need to call UNFCU to verify my enrollment. Fine, except that nobody at UNFCU seems to know anything about this!
They've only had Apple Pay for about a week so probably it's just a training issue. I'll try again in another week or two and see what happens.
I wonder if this verification step is only being required because I'm outside the US at the moment (I live in the US). Sounds like others (at least, upnorth) have not been required to call in to verify.

At this time UNFCU does not yet support Apple Pay. We are currently in the testing phase with this service and as soon as we are able to go live we will inform the membership at large via email and on our website.
