A friend of my parents was asking them about chip and PIN and contactless, and since I've babbled on and on about it with them before, they asked me about it. Oh, and on the topic of PIN versus Signature cards, my current feeling (which is buried somehwere in that blog) is that for people who don't get overseas much Chip and Signature is fine, unless they're particularly interested in the extra security of the PIN. But as someone who goes overseas every now and then, I like the idea of having both. I actually wouldn't want to have only Chip and PIN cards in the US yet, until we get a better feel for how restaurants are going to deal with them.
