I went to book a flight using the Companion Pass today and I noticed a whole lot of new fees.

I expected to pay the Sept 11 Security fee of $5.60 per person per segment (same as on award tickets), but now I am seeing the following fees as well:

$9 per person passenger facility charge
$8 per person flight segment tax
$8-$16 per person US Transportation tax

I don't remember paying these fees when using the companion pass previously. When did AS start passing these fees along?

It's odd (though I am not complaining) that these fees aren't added to award flights, just when using the companion pass.

FWIW and for comparison purposes I just booked SFO-DXB-DAR in Emirates First using AS miles and the taxes and fees TOTALED $7. Yes, seven dollars!
