With the recent Aeroplan change removing YQ from N.A awards, I was expecting the total taxes to dive, however this does not seem to be the case. Here is a simple search on YUL-LGA.

Total taxes, fees and surcharges
Aeroplan - $196.10
MileagePlus - $55.60

So, what tax/surcharge was actually removed post-1Mar2015 on Aeroplan?
I am trying to understand why I am still paying $140 more on AC compared to when using UA miles?
