Earlier this year I did ORD-(HKG-JFK-HKG)-ORD for about US$1700. As long as you're in NC, you're ok. If you were traveling in Y.....that's another story.

I can sleep on planes, especially the UA C seat. I'd bring some DVDs along, an iPod, and maybe some magazines. A laptop is good so you can catch up on emails to friends.

Int'l Biz is fun, IMHO. You can shower at the NRT RCC, take the train into Narita for sushi, I actually enjoy mileage running....provided it's in C!
