Stay update 20 March 2015:

I'm in the even-numbered 620s, uppermost floor facing SFO and adjacent Red Roof Inn, Doubletree etc. Rate AAA, $104 + taxes = $117.48.

Not much has changed since my last stay, though I'd have to say breakfast is getting chintzier - fewer selections, orange juice hidden so you must ask, the cook-to-order area is dark and scrambles and sausages are in warming pans nearby. Though you can ask for made to order, they've made it unlikely one will order because the kitchen serving counter area is devoid and dark.

Dining room was desultory at best. The dining room had four tables occupied, yet it was difficult to get service. Asking for decaffeinated coffee meant the server took our cups to the coffee service in the lobby, filled our cups and retuned them - once. Though we had a breakfast cit for two, they proferred a bill.

The Business Center printer was loaded, but some of my printing came out "shrunk" - settings on printer and printer control panel were normal. Attempts to print e-tickets printed the header alone. Internet was slow, complimentary WiFi (non-premium) was as well.

The good: standard HGI, so you know what you get, and they're still not charging for parking.

Walking can take you to the upscale Kincaid's oceanfront restaurant, or to the nearby Doubletree, where 37 North offers decent food and quaffs, a jazz trio and 1,000 Open Table points. (But few know how to check you in, so you must insist so someone who knows can check you in - you can see if your points increase, proof they did check you in, with the OpenTable app.) free extended hours shuttle to SFO.
