The HP downtown is great. I've stayed there twice in the last six months for events at the Energy Solutions Arena across the street, and the staff are really motivated and nice.

The location is really good for shopping and restaurants within walking distance. My favorite mexican restaurant in the US, The Red Iguana, is just across the freeway at 736 W North Temple. It is definitely worth a visit if you have time---although that one is a little far for a quick walk.

Also, check-out Ruby Snap cookies @ 770 S. 300 W. They have great, exotic cookie flavors like I've never seen anywhere else, and a fabulous retro design for their store, logo, and cookie boxes, etc.

Pat's BBQ is also worth a visit. It was featured on the TV show, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

The HP at the airport, on the other hand, is not so good.
