Of course, but if crew aren't going to cut the power to burning IFE using extinguisher after extinguisher is going to use more than necessary with no guarantee of success. The number of extinguishers on board is not just arrived at by guessing, but does make some assumptions that crew can remember how to use them and follow instructions.
This case was very nasty, and would have been much worse had a second incident occurred.
Perhaps the crew had been disturbed by babies earlier on in the flight?
