IF there was an emergency the cabin crew will stop serving you the drinks - the resposne to the emergency takes primacy over the other duties.

Let me put this discussion into the context of another safety critical role - if someone said doctors don't need a rest break on an 8 hour shift, would you be happy for them to treat you?
