I think one of the issues here is having a crew rest area that isn't more separated from the main cabin. If Tesco had their break area as a couple of roped-off seats next to the checkouts, I expect it wouldn't be too restful either. But it's lot cheaper for Tesco to stick a table and a microwave in a room out the back than to install a separate seated crew rest area on a plane...
