At least some of them apparently have.

There is, of course, a fairly simple solution. For every $1,000 MQD, you get a bonus MQS (and 1,000 bonus MQMs). Increase the requirements for each level by about the amount that the current MQD requirement would provide in bonuses. That would provide more status for those who spend a lot, without impacting the numbers too badly (increase the requirements as needed to handle that).
