Thanks for the reply, unfortunately we were given company credit cards and they use them for booking. I've tried getting them to us mine to no avail.

Anyways, which credit cards should I look into? Thanks

Edit: I've looked into the Citi cards and since I can't book my stays using the card it looks like that's not a good option. Maybe I can sweet talk our booking person.

If so, just carry on. If not, whether this is because they are a third party booking, or because the government rates are somehow special and give up points earning in exchange for lower cost/better benefits, then I would assume that they won't qualify for MVP.

In any event, you'd have six months or so to find out - so just go for your first government rate stay, then if it posts to your account, carry on; if not, start finding cheap, nearby Hamptons.
I'm not sure what they use for booking, just that we get the govt rate (which is usually the lowest) and if the hotel we request doesn't have any more per diem rooms they'll look elsewhere.

Yes, I still receive stay credit and points (currently on the "double points")

I usually travel enough that I could get 4 stays rather quickly, without having to switch hotels midstay or anything, but I didn't want to sign up and find out that they aren't "qualifying stays".

The current promo says I have to do the stays in 90 days.

Does anybody have any experience using the per diem/govnt rate rooms to qualify for the 4 stay/gold promo?

Edit: I would assume that I'd have to use the MVP rate for it to count towards the MVP promo, I would think a govnt rate towards the MVP promo would be a red flag. Ah, looks like I'm destined to earn this the hard way.
