I have found this to be the case as well - I always make sure I book one flight earlier on the commuter for this reason. If you can do standby for the earlier flight I highly suggest this option - otherwise monitor ur flight for delays so u can catch any inbound delays. Ever since they replaced the commuter flights with those SkyWest crapboxes they are notoriously having mechanical delays or cancels.
