Compared to Chase, which bases repeat bonuses on time from last bonus (“who received a new cardmember bonus for this consumer credit card within the last 24 months”), Amex bases repeat bonuses on time from last account (“who have or have had this product within the last 12 months”). This makes decisions as to when to close an AmEx Business card more difficult.

I’ve recently had 3 AmEx Delta Business accounts: opened last month - still open, opened 15 months ago – closed 1 month after opening, opened 30 months ago – closed 2 months after opening. I received the bonus for each of these cards. My concern is that AmEx may choose to deny future applications based on rapid account closures.

Curious what others think and how others manage their AmEx Business card accounts to maximize miles and points from bonuses.
Churn and burn baby. Open em up, meet min spend, rapid fire shut down. Then repeat after 12 months. I'm not particularly worried about AMEX shutdown because the relationship really isn't that valuable anyway given that people now only get 1 lifetime bonus on the personal side and the MR transfer partners are fairly limited.
