Otherwise you could ask FJ if they could use the fare paid as a credit towards rebooking another destination (check what penalty/fee will apply) to at least get some value out of the ticket.
Yes, fare is non-refundable. No insurance and claims for losses due to natural disasters that are known events are usually never covered anyway and when the cyclone is named, it’s a known event. Pam was her name. I would have hoped that FJ would look at this situation as a force majeure category and give me and others a break. Looks like not.
