Yes, extended warranty. I'm sure that the fridge will indeed last more than a year, but having the extra 2nd year of coverage is nice. This &%$* thing better last more than 2 years. I'm replacing the junky contractor-grade fridge that came with the house when it was built--and that lasted 15 years (still kind of going, but hence my situation here--time to replace).

The refurbished item exclusion seems to be removed. You can consider it is covered now.

You can call AMEX Assurance to check as well.

I think MBS MillionMiler did menn PP.

Specifically, MBS MillionMiler was asked about how PP applies to Dell's product (as those terms are frequently used by Dell to describe an item's condition at Dell's outlet).

Not surprising, laptop is one of the most frequently claimed item.
Actually, it was indeed a fridge from Home Depot. (Hope it's still there when my wife and I head there tonight to get it!). No mention of Dell on my part.

And thanks for the clarification and interpretation of the rules. Based on that, yes, the exclusion is gone--but again, not sure where it was back in '07 with the dead links.

After reading several pages of this thread, AMEX must love me. Cardholder since I was 19 years old, 21 years ago. Never a claim on any of their buyer's assurance programs. One disputed charge--ever. (Which was a 'gimmie'--when Hertz billed me for a car I canceled early the morning of pickup).

Thanks again to both gary and mia!
