why should EY make it easy especially when they are not required to do refund at all in the first place? These people are obviously not potential EY fliers. (I personally prefer EY double miles credit. For Y pax, EY is much superior product) I dont think there is any scheme on part of EY to jerk refund seekers. Have you tried process of getting refund out of any US based airlines for a non-refundable ticket even when airline has agreed to do so for special situation?

Lessons to be learned by newbies:
- routings CAN change even at the last minute
- equipment CAN change at the last minute
- unpaid seat selection CAN change even at the gate
- flights CAN get delayed for reasons airline is not reponsible for
- it CAN snow in winter in the northeast
- unplanned labor strikes CAN happen in European countries
