I'm MVPG and booked tickets on American miles.

In general, based on my reading of the rules, you can SDC the following (please correct me if I am wrong):
12:05AM to 11:55PM the same day (~24 hours later)
11:55PM to 12:05 AM the same day (~24 hours earlier)
3:55AM to 10:05PM the day before (~6 hours earlier, red eye rule)

but you cannot do:
11:55PM to 12:05AM next day (10 minutes later)
12:10AM to 12:05AM next day (<24 hours later)

Does anyone know of the above is correct, and even if it is, any experience with agents bending rules in your favor? (I know AS is generally good at that)

PS: I'm speaking for elites here, not sure how the above works with the 6 hour limitation.
Is there an AA/OAL segment on the ticket before you get to any AS segment? If so, AS won't touch the ticket or allow SDC before you get to the AS airport. Had this happen to me yesterday- AA controls the ticket until you're done with AA segments.
