The distribution of PQD across segments isn't usually important, but there are cases where it can be. In particular, flights on *A/MP partners can earn reduced (or no) miles depending on fare classes.
Has anyone compared the pre-flight estimates shown here, against what is credited after the flight? It has already been noted that YQ is missing from estimates, but comparing to PQD credited on my past flights, the calculations seem different.
On this new chart, the general algorithm seems to be:
- No minimum distance for each segment
- Distribute PQD proportional to actual distance of each segment, within each fare
This get me well within 1% on the MAD/BCN example a few posts back, and also my four fares on this future itinerary:
EDIT (3/15): My previous calculations were incorrect. Above has been corrected with more accurate description.
However, this seems different from what I have been credited in the past, which seems to incorporate 500mi(ish) min on UA, 250mi on *A, etc.
It will be interesting what it looks like once it really credits. It may be worth taking a screenshot in case it's not in your favor.
