I fly MEL-PVG regularly on Air China and overall they have an pretty good product.

The crew have always been excellent - but put that in the context that English is not their first language. A smile goes a long way.

As you can see the seats are not private - but what they lack in privacy they make up for in length (80' pitch) and space and are very comfortable. (The center arm-rest pops up when you sleep affording a little privacy.)

Food is just ok, the Chinese options are perhaps very slightly better than western. The champagne is chilled. IFE is limited.
