Great news - I am debating whether to get pretty nervy and call them to reapply for mine closed only 6 weeks ago because of the 2nd year AF not being waived with the excuse that I do have a 5 week European visit coming up in a few weeks.

Did you close the Arrival+ during the "downgrade" process?

If so, what happened to any remaining points on that Arrival+?

Did you get the 20k sign-up bonus on the Arrival during the "downgrade" process?

What level of spend did you have on your Arrival+, and did you use that as leverage to get the Arrival no fee by indicating you would move your spending to that card?

I ask because when I closed my Arrival+ a few weeks AFTER getting my Arrival because I didn't want to take the chance that the Arrival+ closing would reduce my chances for the Arrival no fee or my chances to get the 20k signup, they would not transfer the my Arrival+ points to the newly existing 2 week old Arrival no fee account.

UPDATE after short self-chat: Ok, since I don't really need the Arrival+ (already have Andrews chip+offline pin and Schwab chip+online pin) but would like the offline chip and pin with waived $89 first year and 40k signup bonus again, I decided to go for it via phone, hoping that a voice to voice might help. Immediate denial (within 15 minutes) on www.myapplicationstatus.com (800-308-6942 if by phone). Recon: 866-408-4064 closed weekends.

I'll give them a call on Monday with my plausible? story:

I let Arrival+ go at the end of January to make room for getting pin priority card, finally got card but it turned out not to be pin priority and no offline pin. I have 5 week trip abroad starting in a few weeks that would benefit from offline pin of Arrival+. Willing to pay $15 expedite fee. Have large health insurance and tax expenses coming due in a few weeks. Steady use of Arrival no fee card since then (1500+/month). Willing to move part of Arrival credit limit to Arrival+. Pretty pleeeeeease?!? Sounds good enough? Of course, the posting of the 2nd year annual fee in January may have also affected my decision to let the A+ go. :P Anything I'm missing?
