About an hour outside of Zurich is Basel, where there are tons of pharma/biotech companies as well, so SFO-ZUR is huge.

for those of you who are from the Bay Area, Basel is like the South SF of Switzerland - suburb of a big city, kinda older/crummy (but charming), and full of biotech/pharma.
Basel isn't a suburb, it's Switzerland's 3rd biggest city and the centre of its own urban agglomeration. It's over 50 miles from Zurich. That would be like calling Sacramento a suburb of San Francisco.
