I have had stuff stolen from my room previously...
Massachusetts is a two party state but it this restricts audio recording, not video. Further, the 1st district court held that recording police without permission was protected by the 1st amendment.

My guess, and IANAL, recording outside of the bathroom shouldn't be a problem. Testing that by posting the video on Youtube would probably not be a good idea.
