Do hotel guests have the legal right to use a hidden camera inside their rooms?

For example: can I leave a hidden camera disguised as an electric shaver
somewhere on the desk and see if housekeeping employees or other people
have been stealing stuff from my hotel room? (or worse: the housekeeping
employees using my toothbrush to clean the toilet because I forgot to leave
a tip that day) If so, can such videos be uses as evidence to give to the
police?
