iHG have cancelled accounts for that as what IHG spot in their IT system is you checking in on second account with same CC and that alas for you is same footprint as a person running 2accts to benefit from promos multiple times

Checking like u propose can even result I. Res being amended to be in your name not your wife's

If your wife checks in using her CC and at same time you present your Ihg elite card hotels usually (they do not have to) give you second guest benefits when higher

Hotels eg will not give a friend of mine RA bennies just because my name is on res I ned to be there too
