I completely understand. Central London hotels are more expensive than airport hotels.

In my circumstance, I found out the flight was cancelled, called to rebook on a later flight and found I could not get a return flight until the next day. It wasn't worth it to travel to Heathrow and then get a hotel nearby. Best (for me) to stay in London. I will see how this is handled.
