For status - Generally No. The goalposts are set, you either make it or don't
For status offers - Maybe. It seems you have a greater chance of getting offers if you are unlikely to make the qualifaction/requalifaction
For upgrades etc. - Maybe. While it won't change your status, it may change your value/profitability score
