I recently completed a stay at the Ramses Hilton. At 10,000 HHonors points per night, I though it provided excellent value even though the hotel does show its age. As a HHonors Gold, I was upgraded to an executive level, Nile-facing room. The complimentary buffet breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was diverse and tasty. The hotel offered a decent selection of hor d'oeuvres, soup, light entrees, breads, and deserts at the complimentary reception in the evening, which served for me as dinner two days in a row; beer, wine, soft drinks, and water were also complimentary between 6 to 8 p.m. There's a small casino and a pub in the hotel, as well as a bank and ATM. The location is excellent, within walking distance to the Egyptian Museum, Tahrir Square, and the Nile. On a future return to Cairo, this hotel would certainly be high on my list of possible places to stay.
