I was there last summer. Stayed at Ramses, had dinner at Conrad once. Ramses price and location were great (and super friendly old school Egyptian staff+hospitality, and a solid Indian restaurant). I can't complain...

But Conrad is a modern, new'ish hotel vs the Ramses which is aging. Conrad is a bit more formal (but nicer). If staying in a newer, more modern/up to date property matters to you then go Conrad. IIRC, when we booked the price difference was much more than yours and we were also focused on the location of Ramses.

We only did the museum one day in the end vs multiple days, so probably shouldn't have let that impact our decision as much as we did.

ps - for noise, be very aware that depending on when you go the boats and noise and partying from the river is pretty crazy loud (at least near the Ramses). We asked to be "downgraded" to a non-Nile room so we could get some sleep.
