You can both still register at the GOES website while waiting for your husband's GC. https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov/main/goes . You can both get started on your applications today and then submit them once his GC expiration date is entered.

Also, consider timing your applications until the month after one of your birthdays. This will give one of you nearly six years of GE.

Moving forward, unless you were both born in the same month, you will be unable to synchronize your GE statuses because the status always expires on your birthdays.
