It's a common legal response to a case or claim against you that you continue to justify your actions, even when the outcome is a settlement with the claimant. This creates a situation where (in this case) BA still maintain the impression that their actions, processes, procedures are correct and defensible whilst settling your case. In other words, it is all part of the legal waltz to ensure you claim is settled without any admission of guilt.

Many other people on here that have had small claims settled by BA have received similar responses, as have I - and also similar responses from other companies I have made claims against, which were subsequently settled.
