How did I try to rip them off??? They cancelled my reservation without me knowing and I didn't know the points were returned to me. The people I talked with did not know that the points were actually returned to me prior and thought the points had to be returned yesterday when I actually cancelled the reservation. Once I sorted the problem out, I was more than happy to concede the 50k points. True the title should be changed but at the the time, I really thought I had lost 50k points. An over-reaction on my part? Absolutely. But to call me out on trying to rip them off? I don't think so...
