Back again, I didn't get approved for any of the cards I applied for a few months ago. Thinking of going for another round of applications.

1) Which card should I apply for?
I will be applying for one JAL card and one ANA card. I was thinking of doing one Visa and one AMEX just to have all bases covered (i.e. JAL AMEX and ANA Visa or vice versa). I was thinking ANA Visa because I bank with SMBC and they issue that card, I don't know if that helps at all. Does that sound like a good idea? My main objective is to be able to earn miles as fast as possible.

2) I noticed that when applying for these cards online, I wasn't able to input my full name.

お名前（フリガナ）
ローマ字名
I assume I write my name twice in Katakana and then my name in Roman alphabet. Is that correct?
Since I am unable to input my full name in Katakana, I think this might be affecting my application because my name on the application doesn't match my name on my Residence card and my bank account. Should I try a paper application instead?
