Problems with IHG Points redemption involving IC alliance hotel
OMG I just got ripped off by IHG. I had 90k points this morning and used another 50k to book a july 4th weekend on points due to the 50% sale and brought my total points down to 40k. I then cancelled (TODAY) a pre-existing points reservation I had with them for April 3rd weekend and used an ambassador certificate to rebook. Upon canceling the April 3rd reservation, the Palazzo agent could not confirm my points went back to my account. At this point, my point total should be 90k since I cancelled the reservation. However, my points total is now only 40k and IHG swears I have been credited back my points as they show a 50k reversal of my april booking that shows a posting date of January 30th. I don't know how this could be possible since I just cancelled it today 03/10/15. I would not care if the date showed a points reversal and the posting date was incorrect but I never got my 50k points back. I should have 90k points but the agent says he can't help me and needs to talk to a supervisor about this.
I am so mad as I spent 2 hours now trying to cancel the April points reservation and now am out 50k points that I can't seem to use to book more 50% off Vegas stays at the palazzo and venetian. To make matters worst, I just renewed my ambassador status and now am fuming....please help.
