I think that they probably do value BAEC members less than they used to. From a business point of view this is not necessarily a bad move if they are able to replace the lost BAEC members (who may be expensive to provide for on some of their trips) with new business. But IMHO they are playing a very dangerous game because their enhancements mean that non-BAEC members and low-tier passengers cannot be relied on to fill the seats vacated by disgruntled GCHs.
The HBO enhancement is not just a kick in the teeth to frequent travellers it actually makes BA less attractive to the occasional flyer choosing between EasyJet and BA.
