Non were directed at me, I am gold elite (only through the IHG credit card)

I know the code threads said never query missing points if you don't get bonus points, but I am thinking if I cannot use the points I have (I only have about 55K) for fear of them cancelling a booking, do I own up and grovel for them to remove the bonus codes, as if they cancel my account and I lose the points I'm in the same position.
