One of the news articles I read mentioned that pax carry-ons and luggage were impounded by FAA/NTSB. Any ideas on how long it would take for pax to get their luggage back? For many this is a trivial subject but there were a few times in my life where I was rather sick and my carry on had my medical equipment in it. Not quite life support but I would have been getting worried in 12-24 hrs. And going to the ER wasn't an option - - they'd do more harm than good in my case.
That's part of a complete investigation. Where the luggage is and how much is an important operational parameter to see if it contributed to the aircraft performance.
