We were looking at going to Phu Quoc but have been slightly disappointed at the price there for hotels at the moment, also the wife has never travelled before so she would like to see Thailand.
What are other suggestions you might have for Vietnam?
The wife actually lives on Doc Let beach north of Nha Trang, but the islands around Krabi i found quite nice.

Does anyone have a suggestion how far out to book flights to get them cheapest? SGN-KBV with Thai at the moment is about $900 return for both or $600 buying as non connecting tickets. Which to me seems a little high for the connecting tickets.
