And I think it's pretty well documented here that the Amex certs are valid for LUTXV fares for Platinum, and AGIZLUTXV for Reserve. DL/Amex failed to update their T&Cs when they added the XV fare classes and converted GZ from upgrade buckets to deep-discounted first/biz classes, and apparently still have not.
I understand the former, but the latter, an agent (from the certificate department) just advised me that my Reserve cert is restricted to L U T A I fares...
"The certificate cannot be combined with another offer or discount including, but not limited to, web fares, sale fares, and eCoupons. Both passengers must be booked at the same time, in the same class of service and in the same record. Tickets are only available in A and I classes of service for First Class travel, and only available in L, U, T classes of service for Main Cabin travel and may not be available on all flights or markets. Most fares require an advance purchase of up to 14 days, a 3 night minimum stay and a 30-day maximum stay."
