The domestic flights actually look very reasonable! Will also look at using UR points in hotels instead of flights.
On another note, thank you guv1976 for your suggestion on transferring to BA Avios. It looks like it's only 4,500 points + $15 for Sydney >> Melbourne / Brisbane >> Sydney flights. Very reasonable indeed!
What did you end up doing? I am looking at booking an SQ award for Virgin Australia. I can see award availability in VirginAustralia.com but when I call SQ they tell me that there isn't any availability. Its a shame because the redemption would be a good value.
