I've seen a pair of UMs (seemingly unrelated) on a HEL->JFK service once. I think they just go check up on them more often than others. I mean, what do you specifically expect? If anything, it's easier to keep the kids busy on a L/H flight with the IFE.
(That said, I've only been UM on defunct IT service NCE->LIL, which is definitely not Finnair long haul)
I think the above poster is talking about long layovers. I seem to remember that some of the larger airports have facilities to keep minors busy (think lounge for kids). Dunno about HEL though.
