Marriott generally more expensive than Hilton or Conrad. No one's mentioned the HIlton on Orchard. It can be pricey or it can be (relatively) cheap.
I love the Conrad. I like where it's located. You can walk to Marina Bay Sands. There's lots going on between the Conrad and the Fullerton along the Bay.
Hiltons and Marriotts tend to be insanely overpriced throughout Asia (like 2x what they should be for the quality- the shangri la in SG is often cheaper than the marriott). They are nice, but my instinct is that they cater to first timers and business people who are a bit nervous about the slightly different than home world around them (obviously silly in Singapore, but many don't know that if they've never been before).
I stayed at the Hilton many years ago for my first trip to SG. Never again, as there are so many better options.
