Meta says the merchant needs to call them on a dedicated merchant-to-merchant phone line. Again, store employee didn't even know who they needed to go to internally but claimed I hear back from them at end of day.
I still don't know whose at fault, so next week I'm planning to:
- start going to Albertson's corporate asking them to resolve, because both myself and the merchant have no record that Albertson's actually paid the merchant to have them load the amount despite Albertson's claim of activation and approval.
- start filing complaints with the Texas Banking Department and FDIC against Meta that they failed to actually activate a card as promised, and have failed to take the necessary steps to resolve the dispute with me or provide Albertson's with a direct way to resolve the issue, even though I have transmitted to them all the necessary paperwork to do so.
I had a similar activation failure with a safeway-owned store, and the manager got it resolved. Usually the failure is on the store's end...to send money to Meta, so I'd complain about the store first.
