Lex: The only person who might have "fun" would be the America West gate agent who successfully was able to recoup big bucks for the airline (thereby offsetting the $20 airfare steal) by joyfully informing you that: (1) your return ticket to SFO had been canceled; and (2) you would have the "opportunity" to purchase the full, unrestricted one-way fare of $237 to return home.
So, I suggest you resist the temptation. If you really want to spend some time in Phoneix, why don't you try booking on Southwest. Their OAK-PHX fares are pretty good. You also could probably get a solid deal on any number of carriers from SJC-PHX.
