I think you need to go to Orly. All my trips to Roissy tend to be quite boring, in terms of view. I think you may get a whiff of Montmatre on the port (left) side, depending on the direction of landing. Better still go on to somewhere like Lyon or Marseille, which is an indirect way of doing it but on a clear day Paris is worth a meander.
