The women and children nonsense is for the days of the ship. There, the ship took a few hours or at least half an hour to sink. The walkway was wide. With an airplane, everyone gets off as fast as possible. If there is a child that needs help, the closest passenger helps. All the passengers should not wait for the children to squeeze past and exit first, followed by women, followed by frequent flyer members with elite status, followed by small men, etc., etc.

I'm going to get myself and anyone else I care about off of that death trap. The rest can stay while they breakout the chalkboard and devise the perfect evacuation. Should the worst happen I'll contribute to the memorial.
