Interesting example there. I wonder in hard commercial terms (£££) what your 180 sectors a year are worth to BA once you take the base fare that BA gets and then deduct overheads plus the cost of benefits like lounge access.
Not trying to make a point in any way, however it does start to get to the nub of whether they want your loyalty. I haven't a clue whether their profit is £1 a flight, £10 a flight and so on, I just vaguely recall someone saying a few years back that the LCCs didn't make a profit until more than 80% of the seats were filled.
